Explore Saving My Natural TeethI’m Looking For Dental Implants
I already know I have missing, failing, or badly damaged teeth and I’m ready to explore implant options, pricing, and whether I may be a candidate.
Go Straight To Dental ImplantsBefore You Replace Your Teeth, Find Out If They Can Be Saved.
Dr. Javier Portocarrero’s treatment philosophy begins with preserving natural teeth whenever appropriate. If gum disease is threatening the foundation of your smile, the first step is understanding whether those teeth can still be treated before moving toward replacement.
Save What Can Be Saved
When there is a reasonable path to preserving your natural teeth, periodontal treatment may help control disease and protect the smile you already have.
Know Before You Remove Teeth
If you have already been told that teeth need to be removed, a second opinion can help you understand whether preservation is still possible or whether implants are truly the better next step.
A Different Approach To Treating Gum Disease.
LANAP uses advanced laser technology as part of periodontal treatment. For the right patient, it may become part of a treatment plan focused on controlling periodontal disease while preserving natural teeth whenever possible.

Can My Teeth Still Be Saved?
Every mouth is different. These are general signs that may help you understand why a second opinion matters—but only a clinical exam can determine which path is appropriate for you.
When Saving Your Teeth May Still Be Possible
- Your teeth still have enough healthy support to be treated.
- Periodontal disease may be manageable with appropriate therapy.
- You want another opinion before agreeing to remove natural teeth.
- Your goal is to preserve as much of your natural smile as reasonably possible.
When Dental Implants May Become The Next Step
- Teeth are severely damaged, failing, or no longer predictable to preserve.
- Advanced bone or periodontal support has been lost.
- You are already missing teeth or facing multiple extractions.
- You want to understand implant options if natural teeth cannot be saved.
The right answer depends on your exam, imaging, periodontal condition, bone support, and long-term prognosis. A consultation is the best way to understand which option fits your situation.
If Your Teeth Can’t Be Saved, You Still Have A Path Forward.
When teeth have reached the point where they can no longer be predictably preserved, dental implants can provide another way to restore function, comfort, and confidence. From replacing one tooth to rebuilding a full smile, treatment can be tailored to what you need.
